Sakura Series

The Sakura Series, founded by award-winning spoken word poet Leilani, is a collective dedicated to providing safe spaces for NYC’s diverse diaspora to create, share, and celebrate poetry and other forms of art. We host poetry slams, workshops, and showcases, creating platforms for both emerging and established artists to reach their full potential. Our mission is to amplify unheard stories and foster a community where everyone feels seen and heard, creating platforms for both emerging and established artists to shine. We believe that both written and spoken word poetry have the power to make profound cultural impact, educate those around us and build the confidence organically that every artist needs to truly shine!
