SAMI Health is a privately owned clinical health informatics company headquartered in Westport, CT. The organization was founded following a personal medical tragedy that led to a purposed mission to address the fundamental issues in healthcare information by operating with a strong emphasis on patient-centric quality care improvement through the delivery of portable medical data in real time. SAMI, Smart Access to Medical Information (SAMI), is a clinical utility that aggregates a health institution’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system(s) by ingesting all of the data that resides in one or many EMRs and indexes the several thousand data elements to simplify the validation and identification process of critical medical documentation that is pertinent to providing quality patient care. With SAMI, hospitalists, clinicians, administration, patients, and families, have immediate access to clinically relevant medical documentation that could positively impact patient outcome. SAMI breaks down information silos and enable clinicians with the ability to search across many EMRs to identify a patient population or monitor an episode of care across the entire care continuum. The clinical staff has the power of IT at their fingertips to proactively drive patient safety and improve quality without having to rely on multiple systems.
