SAS Norway is the largest airline in Norway with 440 daily departures. SAS Norway is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) Group. The company operates routes in Norway and also between Norway and the rest of Europe. SAS Norway carries around 10 million passengers per year. The company had a profit for 2007 of NOK 921 million. The SAS Group has a route network covering approximately 150 destinations. Of these are about 55 destinations covered by SAS Norway, from Longyearbyen in the north to Las Palmas in the south. The route network is operated by a total of 62 aircraft. 54 Boeing 737s, 6 Fokker 50s and 2 Avro 70s. SAS Norway is a member of the global Star Alliance network. Around 3500 employees work for the airlines, which is based at Fornebu, close to Oslo.
