Our Mission In Gwinnett County, a staggering 20% of children struggle to secure their next meal. Food insecurity endangers many families, from a variety of cultural, economic, and social backgrounds. Satisfeed delivers hunger relief for Gwinnett’s families in need. With our food co-op and weekend support programs, we work to fight food insecurity and reduce food waste. We believe that physical fulfillment is crucial for children to reach their highest potential – our mission is to nourish Gwinnett’s children for a brighter future, with food rescue and donations that we deliver directly to hungry families. We Have The Means It might be hard to think of hunger as a real problem in America. Yet every day, 41 million Americans struggle to put food on the table. Considering the amount of food waste in the U.S (up to 40% of food in the US is never eaten!) something doesn’t add up. What We Do We’ve deployed 3 initiatives in our fight against food insecurity. We provide hunger relief to families through our food co-op program. We distribute brown bag lunches during the summer break. For year-round support, Satisfeed provides emergency nutrition for children with weekend-rescue backpacks. And all of these efforts begin with food rescue.
