Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue

Saving Grace bridges the gap between two of Omaha’s greatest needs: the need to rescue an overabundance of perishable and prepared foods, and the need to feed those in our community who go hungry and are malnourished. Saving Grace is a nonprofit food rescue and delivery agency that picks up donated perishable food in refrigerated trucks from heartland restaurants, caterers, cafeterias, grocery stores, delis and food distributors. Saving Grace does not warehouse food, but delivers it same-day, fresh and free of charge to nonprofit agencies that serve families in need. Local organizations that benefit from our service include pantries, missions, after-school programs, daycare centers, senior centers and churches. These agencies are able to use funds previously allocated to food costs toward other support services. Our donated perishable and prepared foods provide needed produce, protein and dairy to some of our communities most challenged children, seniors and families.
