Raphael Armin - Solo violin • electronics • composition • programming To make a long story short, my fathers last name used to be Sawatzki. Some time during the McCarthy era, when his family often crossed the Canada - US border, his father James Armin Sawatzki changed their family name by simply dropping his last name. All family members were then called Armin. I always thought I am a rightful owner of this name, and so I am using it for my musical endeavors as a little reminder of my roots. Under my artistic pseudonym, I compose and perform live in various settings.
