In 1976, Niels Jørgen Jørgensen established ScanDrums with a simple and innovative concept of re-collecting used steel dr ums and reconditioning them for resale. This straightforward business model is predicated on circular product development through the reutilization of mater ials that others deem waste. By promoting reconditioned packaging, which positively impacts both the bottom line and the environment, ScanDrums has built a unique expertise and a comprehensive network within the sustainable packaging sector over the course of 49 years. In 2025, ScanDrums made an important decision and sold the 49-year-old family company to Schütz Nordic. The decision was made to ensure future growth, market position, and jobs. With the same commitment to quality, sustainability and excellence - ScanDrums is now able to offer increased flexibility, better service and a consistency in quality across all packaging groups.
