As the inventor of the first inkjet print head for cement, Scawo3D is at the forefront of structural 3D concrete printing (3DCP). Being able to produce any freeform geometry from staircases through large-scale insulating wall elements to interior design objects, Scawo3D is transforming the value chain of today’s construction industry. The SPI printing method (short for Selective Paste Intrusion) allows to produce millimetre-precise parts with construction-grade compressive strengths, delivered on-demand to construction sites. Rooted in the design of freeform concrete staircases, the first ever print head for cement paste was developed over the last decade and patented in 2021. Working closely with research and industry, this innovation has opened up a host of new possible applications, paving the way to a wider range of 3DCP products and processes.
