Scenic Pittsburgh, established in 2010, is southwestern Pennsylvania’s only nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to, protecting, preserving and promoting the region's scenic resources. Scenic Pittsburgh is an affiliate of Scenic America, the nation's premier scenic conservation organization, and a project of the Pennsylvania Resources Council. Protect As ardent supporters of scenic beauty, Scenic Pittsburgh utilizes the principles of scenic conservation as tools for economic growth, community engagement, and overall regional vitality. Scenic Pittsburgh has effectively championed legislation that limits visual blight, creates sound scenic policy, and promotes smart, sustainable placemaking. Scenic Pittsburgh identifies and monitors visual pollution, outdoor advertising, and other scenic detractors as a means of promoting a healthy, vibrant region. Scenic Pittsburgh serves as the public voice for public space in order to ensure fair and equal representation in all issues related to the scenic environment. Preserve Scenic preservation increases the quality of life by engendering affection for place, drawing tourism, and attracting business.
