School Farms

School Farms is a nonprofit organization transforming schools and rural communities into hubs of climate action, education, nutrition, and skills development. We believe that schools should not only be places of academic learning but also spaces where young people build resilience, practical skills, and confidence to shape a sustainable future. Guided by our CENS+ model (Climate • Education • Nutrition • Skills), we design and implement innovative, hands-on solutions to address some of the most pressing development challenges of our time: food insecurity, youth unemployment, climate vulnerability, and poor nutrition outcomes. Our interventions include: School Farms & Gardens – hands-on agricultural learning that improves food security, promotes environmental stewardship, and links classroom theory to practice. Nourish Labs – practical learning spaces where students engage in nutrition science and healthy meal preparation. AgroMentoring & Student Pop-up Markets – entrepreneurship training and real-life business experience for young learners. Working across Ghana, we partner with schools, parents, local leaders, and development stakeholders to build models that strengthen both education systems and community livelihoods. Our approach is rooted in sustainability, inclusivity, and self-reliance — ensuring that young people are not only beneficiaries but active changemakers. Our impact so far: Improved access to nutritious food in schools and communities. Increased youth knowledge in agriculture, nutrition science, and entrepreneurship. Strengthened local resilience to climate change through sustainable farming practices. Nurtured a new generation of leaders who see agriculture, climate action, and innovation as tools for transformation.
