Science Riot Grrls is committed to bridging the gender gap in STEM by empowering young minds to explore the world of science. Our space provides children with the opportunity to play, tinker, and build while gaining a deep understanding of scientific principles. Each Science Riot Grrls session spotlights trailblazing individuals in STEM, with a focus on empowering underrepresented groups in the field. We explore various scientific themes, including light, sound, simple machines, and weather, to ignite curiosity and foster creativity. Children have the chance to engage in hands-on activities and experiments every week. Founded by Wendy Graham, a passionate mother of two, our lab is a place where kids discover the wonders of STEM through enjoyable and meaningful experiences. Wendy holds an Honours BSc in Applied Psychology, with a diverse academic background that includes Biophysics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. She brings valuable experience in tutoring high school students in Biology and Physics, making STEM education accessible to all.
