Scienceplay Kids

my name is Lorien Parker and I was a biochemical and molecular biologist researching cancer chemotherapies up until 4 years ago when I quit that job to follow my other passion: bringing awesome science to the community. I am now the founder and director of my own company, SciencePlay Kids. We create science experiences that are for all learners. We aim to invite all students (and adults) back into science conversations by making them relatable, relevant, unintimidating, accessible and inclusive. As a neurodivergent, I am passionate about ensuring science (and STEM) learning and experiences are approachable and accessible, no matter how you take in information. I also run science workshops for kids in the West of Melbourne, make unique science kits, am a science (STEM) learning and engagement consultant for school/childcare centres and create engaging school STEM programs for corporate companies to assist in community outreach.
