Score Athletics

SCORE Athletics is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit currently based in the Austin area. Our mission is to travel to under-resourced elementary schools and mentor kids through athletics. SCORE fully provides its schools with the equipment, resources, and coaches necessary to engage the kids in an after-school team-sports program. Utilizing UT student volunteers as our coaches, SCORE enables role models and mentors to invest in the kids’ lives over the program’s 10-week length. SCORE Athletics seeks to mentor those kids through team sports. By introducing sports to these kids, we seek to: • Provide a kid with the opportunity to play organized team sports in a safe and competitive environment, • Improve a kid’s educational experience by transferring skills taught in team sports like communication, leadership, and teamwork from the field to the classroom, • Mentor a kid by giving them a positive college-aged role model who is present in their lives, encourages and supports them, and gives them someone who believes in them.
