Scottish Book Trust is a national charity changing lives through reading and writing. We strive to enrich the health, wellbeing and life chances of 5.1 million people across the whole of Scotland. We strongly advocate that literacy skills are integral to social, educational and cultural engagement, to the well-being and economic success of individuals, and the creation of a confident and empowered society. Our team knows that the most powerful and compelling way to increase literacy is through inspiring a love of reading and writing. Our programmes give millions of people the opportunity to experience the empowerment, enrichment, solace and fun that reading and writing offer. It is this that motivates people of all ages and backgrounds to see themselves as readers and writers, and gives them the reason and the confidence to develop their skills and a lifelong engagement with reading and writing.
