Semiconductor Career Readiness Organization (SCRO) is a student-envisioned, student-run interdisciplinary club at University of Florida designed to expand the knowledge of our students in the semiconductor industry. We foster a culture with an open exchange of information and we support further educational inquiry for all colleges and educational backgrounds. We guide our members by introducing them through various topics by the lecture series, give actual insight into semiconductor industries by inviting experts from the semiconductor field and having a hands-on fabrication experience during the summer. During this time, students are free to tinker and observe the various steps of micro and nano-fabrication first-hand. We encourage our students to figure out how the process works and how to remedy real-life issues experienced in the industry. These trial-and-error runs allow students to learn from their mistakes and truly grasp the physics behind the machinery used and the theory taught. SCRO offers learning enrichment that introduce more novice students to the semiconductor industry while giving more advanced students the opportunity to further understand these processes by educating others. We are constantly improving upon what we do through the feedback of industry-leading companies and fellow professors, staff, and students.
