Seaton Burn College

Seaton Burn College is a specialist Business and Enterprise Foundation School in North Tyneside. Our age range of pupils is 11-18. In December 2012, Ofsted judged us to be a 'Good' school,"where teaching is good overall, with a substantial proportion that is outstanding". All over the world, research is showing that children learn and develop best when they are nurtured and taught in organisations which know them and their families well; organisations which can respond to who they really are as young people; organisations where children cannot become lost in the crowd. A recent American paper on school size concludes : ‘Large schools tend to function like factories, small schools more like communities’ ‘Small schools nurture a sense of belonging. They enable teachers to work more closely with a smaller number of students and to respond to individual needs.
