It all started in 1908 when two brothers came to Casablanca seeking opportunity for a better life and found it. Back then Casablanca was a burgeoning regional seaport and commerce was booming. From all manner of wholesale to shoe manufacture and retail, the family business thrived over decades and evolved from one generation to the next. The pursuit for a better life and a better world that the two brothers commenced over a century ago continues to this day. In the midst of the challenges that the corona virus pandemic has brought to bear upon us all, secondskin came to see the light of day as a spinoff to this longtime family tradition. It was created in an act of renewal and hopeful rebirth. In overcoming our fears and limitations, we willingly shed our old skin and adorn ourselves with new skin so we may continue our journey of learning and growth, one brave step at a time. Hence the name secondskin. To this day, our footwear is handcrafted with care and devotion in a small second generation family-owned workshop by master artisans who have perfected their craft over decades. We source locally tanned leathers in support of our community and economy, and we continue nurturing closely knit relations with our historic partners. We are secondskin.
