As an advisory firm for owners and operators of affordable housing communities, our mission is to keep our clients on top of all crime and disorder challenges at their properties using creative approaches, our network, and the latest technology. We design our programs to secure apartment communities from the inside out, by identifying and removing the drivers of crime and disorder. As part of the larger community, our mission is twofold: we seek to support the expansion of safe, affordable housing and to reduce gun violence in the Washington Metropolitan area. In support of both missions, we offer two basic services: Gunsighter. Research shows that even when the sounds of gunshots are detected, crimes involving firearms are reported to police in less than half the incidents. With a new AI driven video analytics technology, the Gunsighter service monitors video surveillance feeds to spot guns. An early warning system to the presence of firearms and the subjects who carry them at apartment complexes improves resident safety and reduces premise liability for owners and management. Property Security Advisory Services. Starting with an audit of existing security measures, we integrate all elements into a comprehensive program with a purpose. Tapping our network of vetted providers - we connect all the traditional physical security elements like video surveillance, uniformed security patrol, access control, and reporting and notification systems - to create value out of necessary expenses. We keep clients on top of incidents and guide informed responses to stakeholder concerns at properties, and within the larger community. SSN started out in 2011 as Belfiore Consulting, LLC. As a police detective, founder Joe Belfiore noticed that much street crime happened in around apartment buildings and most businesses did not know how to produce recorded video for investigations. We started out as problem solvers, and have yet to change our ways.
