Self-Directed Advocacy Network

Advocates for Disability Rights in the State of Maryland. We are participants, families and advocates for Self-Directed Services (SDS) in Maryland. SDS is designed to be “flexible, person centered and family oriented” (DDA transformation, July 2015). We have created successful, cost effective individualized programs in compliance with Federal Guidelines. Proposed DDA amendments to our Waiver would increase administrative costs and remove flexibility, person centeredness, and family orientation from SDS. We ask your support in requesting that Maryland’s Developmental Disabilities Administration and lawmakers uphold the right to self-determination for people with disabilities. Please join us in our campaign to form a genuine partnership with DDA in order to preserve and improve authentic self-direction for Marylanders with disabilities.
