Its unique features will offer a brand new type of online experience, connecting with local like-minded people. The main purpose of sE is to connect our communities, offering constructive threads that share important information. Positive social change is the heart of what we hope our website will deliver, learning about society, as well as shaping it. We were formed in late 2015 by Jamie Hoult & Warren Lewis in England, United Kingdom, on a BBC ‘Make-It-Digital’ traineeship. With huge inspiration we conducted a ‘Dragons Den’ type pitch to the CEO of the college provider CT Skills, and several other senior members of staff. Our concepts were met with much enthusiasm and praise and after much extremely useful feedback, we have continued to grow selfEarth as a company – meeting the local Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping, liaising with politicians, campaigners & artists.
