Seme Association

Committed to ecological resilience and collective well-being, the association works to promote biodiversity, reforestation, and sustainable food autonomy in Martinique, while fostering solidarity and the transmission of tradition and local knowledge. Our projects: Trees of Birth: over 300 fruit trees have been distributed across Martinique, given to parents in maternity wards to symbolize life and the connection to nature. This continues the Creole tradition of planting a tree nourished with the placenta, symbolizing the link between life, the earth, and the child’s awakening. Birth Garden: A participatory space inaugurated on October 21, 2025, allowing families without land to plant their own trees, create collective vegetable gardens, and support sustainable local agriculture. Already a dozen trees planted since the inauguration! Environmental Awareness and Education: Workshops, educational videos, school interventions, clean-up campaigns, and support for tree planting projects across the region to raise awareness of biodiversity and eco-responsible practices. Partnerships and Collaborations: Working with maternity wards, nurseries, local associations, and regional stakeholders to strengthen the impact of projects and develop sustainable initiatives.
