Senryu Taiko

Senryu Taiko is a Japanese drumming (taiko “”) ensemble based at UC Riverside in the heart of the Inland Empire, California. Founded in 1998, Senryu Taiko has been self-taught and self-sustained, continuing the tradition of kumidaiko (group taiko) by writing music together, teaching incoming members, and forming ties with other collegiate taiko groups across the nation. Senryu Taiko is very involved with the UC Riverside and Inland Empire communities, performing for and collaborating with fellow Asian Pacific Islander organizations, local elementary/middle/high schools, and various charitable causes. Senryu Taiko maintains a respectable clientele, performing and/or hosting workshops at events including, but not limited to: Riverside Lunar Festival, San Jose Obon, Anime Expo, multiple Daiso Japan grand openings, and Ju Percussion.
