Sero Consulting

Sero Consulting was founded in 2004 by David Kay and Liz Wallis, both former directors of Tribal Technology, part of Tribal plc. Tribal Technology specialised in technology solutions for the education and skills sector. Both David and Liz had been directors of a company that developed one of the first Virtual Learning Environments in the UK, as well as a sister company working on library management solutions for universities (now part of OCLC plc). Since 2004, Sero Consulting staff and Associates have delivered a wide range of consultancy projects for the Higher Education sector in the UK, Europe and North America, with particular expertise in distance and online learning, as well as library, research and e-resource solutions, from organisational, pedagogic and technological perspectives. Sero’s approach is characterised by a combination of domain knowledge and technical expertise, underpinned by evidence-led techniques and frameworks for benchmarking, strategy development, options assessment and action planning. Sero favours a compact team approach to consultancy because it offers a range of expertise fit for purpose and provides greater flexibility in terms of activity spikes and critical timing. Sero currently employs 12 personnel and draws on a highly selective Associate framework of a further eight experts, supported by additional domain specific experts as needed. The services offered by Sero are covered by its accreditation under the Customer First quality framework. Sero has offices in Sheffield, UK, but our consultants are based around the UK, including in Oxford, and work internationally.
