Shackleton Life is an Authorized Financial Services Provider (FSP 44723) who are passionate about developing specialized life insurance products suited for specific needs. The passion extends into the deep understanding of the importance of Life and disability insurance and the good it can do. Shackleton Life's products are underwritten by Old Mutual Alternative Risk Transfer Limited, a licensed life insurance cell captive insurer (OMART). Shackleton Life performs Binder functions and distributes insurance directly via our digital platform and call centre. Our Story Shackleton Life was established in 2013 after developing the Endurance product which is a Mortgage Bond Protection Insurance policy which offers peace of mind that, in the event of death, disability, dread disease or retrenchment, the insureds' bond or debt with the financial institution is settled or paid for during the insureds' time of need. Shackleton Life is part of the Shackleton Group of companies. The Shackleton Group was born in 2002 with the formation of Shackleton Credit Management, a company established to acquire and manage a non-performing loan portfolio from a major South Africa banks. In 2005 Shackleton Risk Management, which provides niche short term insurance product to legal and insolvency practitioners was added to the group. In 2012 the Group started laying plans to enter Long Term Insurance and in 2013 entered the market with the launch of Shackleton Life which specializes in life Insurance cover underwritten by Old Mutual Alternative Risk Transfer Limited (OMART) – since inception Shackleton Life has launched the Shackleton Life Endurance mortgage protection policy and the Shackleton Life QuickClaim policy for immediate needs.
