We also perform specialty services such as blast design, progressive collapse prevention, industrial, recreational, and residential facilities. The firm was founded as Shaffer Engineering, PC in 1993 by its President, Donn R. Shaffer, PE. Mr. Shaffer has been responsible for the design of many projects using various structural systems. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in eight states. Jeffrey W. Stevens, PE joined the firm as its Vice President in 1997. Mr. Stevens’ experience includes the design of several large construction projects in various parts of the country. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in four states. The firm changed its name to Shaffer & Stevens, PC in In 2020, Brad A. Schaap, PE, SE joined the firm as a Vice President. Mr. Schaap is a licensed professional structural engineer in California, and nine other states. He has performed seismic evaluations of existing buildings and retrofit designs, as well as blast-resistant design, including a near-field nuclear detonation. He has performed numerous Alternate Path analyses on new and existing building structures to prevent Progressive Collapse. The firm changed its name to Shaffer Stevens & Schaap, PC in 2020.
