Shape Up US is a 501c3 non-profit corporation is dedicated to preventing obesity and empowering children and families to lead healthier, happier lives. With a focus on cardiovascular health, physical exercise, nutrition, and mental and emotional well-being. We accomplish our mission through: AWARENESS! EDUCATION! ACTION! Shape Up US is a partner with the President’s Challenge-The goal of the partnership is to develop and implement Hip Hop Healthy Heart Program for Children™ Shape Up US was awarded The 2014 Community Leadership Award AWARENESS! Health and Wellness Expos–Nationwide Movement dedicated to Healthy Communities - Free State-by-State Wellness Expos that get thousands of participants on-board the wellness bandwagon- to further promote health and prevent chronic disease, It partners with host communities to provide a day of fun to promote health and prevent chronic disease across the spectrum of ages, races, genders and ethnicities. EDUCATION! The Hip Hop Healthy Heart Program for Children™ is a K-6th grade comprehensive wellness literacy education curriculum that has been created to “Build A Culture of Health” through our educational system. It provides our children with the tools to flourish and be resilient! To guide them to blossom into their full potential (mentally, physically and emotionally). It flows from teacher, student, family, community.and provide an on-line curriculum and resources that “Transforms Our Children” through a Train-The-Trainer model that “Positively” affect ALL who Engage in this program. It is the Solution To Lifestyle and Behavioral Changes! It program encompasses the “Whole Child”. ACTION! CLAP FOR KIDS! A National Fitness Campaign-Using Clapping, as its method of delivery to Raise Awareness and Prevent Obesity Among Youth. CLAP FOR KIDS! It promotes physical activity throughout the Nation. We all clap our hands to show happiness and appreciation-it makes us feel good!
