Representing the interests of adoptees from Bangladesh and families in Bangladesh in search of their lost children. Creating a bridge between Bangladesh and the Netherlands. Since research has shown that intercountry child adoption contains a form of child trafficking, we are advocating for the rights of abandoned children and the families who lost their child(ren). The Dutch Foundation Shapla Community aims to access information, restore the honour of the birthmothers, and reunite children and families - with a team of 10-20 volunteers. See our campaign here: As part of our Reconnection program, we have our DNA & Family Finder Project for which we target to supply at least 1500 DNA kits to families in Bangladesh searching for a child. Within 2 years, we succeeded in 24 matches, but many more are waiting for support in their searches and reunification with family members. Do you agree that #familymatters?
