Share The Ocean
Our goal is to reduce the number of collisions between marine megafauna and boats using statistic modeling, by cross-referencing species distribution data and ship routes. This program addresses all ocean-centered stakeholders; shipping, fishing, offshore racing and recreational boating. We must rethink maritime habits by routing ships in a more environmentally responsible way in order to preserve the diversity of marine fauna whilst sustaining our maritime activity. In partnership with - Observatoire PELAGIS, UMS3462 Univ La Rochelle /CNRS- PLATON - an Inria project-team joint with École Polytechnique, within CMAP (Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées, École Polytechnique – UMR7641 CNRS – Institut Polytechnique de Paris), and affiliated with the Inria Saclay Île-de-France Research Center on the École Polytechnique campus.
