The Shared Perspective Project (the “SPP”) is a two-year (2018-2019) academic expedition overseen by several of the world's leading authorities on Mesoamerican archaeology. The goal of the SPP is to revisit Mesoamerica, to view it through a fresh set of eyes that enjoy the benefit of modern technology and to then design a wholly new, updated college-level archaeology curriculum. As field work winds down the SPP will morph into a joint publishing venture with its Chief Archaeologist overseeing a team of writers, photographers, videographers and graphic artists; together they will author and publish a collection of textbooks and study guides as well as produce a large volume of video-based lecturing aids and teaching materials, all to be used by leading colleges and universities throughout North America. The SPP is supported by Harvard University and is made possible by a generous grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
