Sharnam

It's a name which is extremely close to my heart. It's actually a lot more than just a name its an emotion, it's a chest full of memories, it's my core, it's love. My late grandfather Mr. Jagdish Bharadwaj a highly optimistic and progressive man who always supported me and played an anchor role to steer my thought process to positivity & optimism. Throughout his lifetime he always encouraged people around him to strive for progress not perfection. He was a devout - disciplined man who always believed in 'Whatever God does, does for good' and taught me to treat my failures as my teachers and to always look out for the good in them. Important people in our lives leave imprints. They may be no more but they are always there in our hearts and minds as they helped to form them. So it was quite imperative for me to have a brand name which reminds me of him and his values and teachings. My grandfather had named his house 'Shree Ram Sharnam' which translates to 'In the Refuge of Lord Ram'. So keeping all these thoughts in mind I came up with the name of 'Sharnam' which means 'home/refuge or safety'. This name not only helps me to stay true to myself as a designer but most importantly as a person and also justifies the idea to create a brand which resonates with safety, positivity, affinity, love and trust. The Design Philosophy My grandparent's house -'Shree Ram Sharnam', was a place which instilled peace and calmness in one's senses. It was warm and secure. Not to mention the positivity came from the owners themselves but those vibes were deep seeded in all parts of the house. That memory, that eternal feeling is what inspires me to create products which resonate with that exact thought. The products are designed and created to inherit and to spread those same pure vibes which we experienced.
