Incorporated in 1987, SharonPly today holds the enviable distinction of being the first – and so far, the only manufacturer to have exported quality plywoods to Japan. The process adheres to the strict dictums of quality control and makes use of technology developed by the premier Wood Research Institute at the University of Kyoto. The factory in Gummudipoondi boasts of state of the art equipment and makes use of eco-friendly. It has also started the commercial production of Particle Boards at the newly set-up unit in Gummudipoondi, Tamil Nadu, India. Sharon Gold the signature brand till date got launched. In 1990, Sharon Platinum, Flush Door, Blockboards were launched. The flexible plywood Sharon Elasti Ply got launched in 1992. Pioneering Kyoto-Protec Technology was incorporated in 1994. Sharon Pre-laminated boards division was started in 2011. Manufacturing of Sharon Particle Boards commenced in 2017.
