They later diversified into downstream products from Furfural, first by hydrogenating the furfural to produce furfuryl alcohol and then reacting furfuryl alcohol with formaldehyde to produce furan resins for the growing foundry market in China. Nowadays SQ is a diversified industrial enterprise employing over people, serving customers in the growth markets of Foundry, Phenolic Resin, Phenolic Foam and Bio / Fine-chemicals. Head office, Product Development and main production facilities are in Jinan, Shandong Province.
