Shikhar Special School
We are a nearly 20 years old institute working towards the betterment of Specially-abled kids and their education in this small city Kota in Rajasthan, India. We belong to 'SHIKHAR Society for the welfare of Mentally Handicapped' which was started by Meenakshi Saxena after having seen the absence of Special schools for these kids during her tenure as a teacher in a Primary school. Since then, we have taken several projects to help these kids by training & educating them, customized training plans based on the mental age and short & long term goals for the kids, and have kept a residential facility for children with severe condition. We have more than 90 special children with the institute right now in all age groups and we plan to expand the operations given we get helping hands as volunteers as well as donors.
