Founded in 2013; based in Warsaw, Poland; company producing fiction feature films and serialized content for all kinds of distribution platforms. SHIPSBOY’s main focus is on original stories with potential to reach wide audiences, both nationally and globally. We nurture and build long-lasting relationships with talent we work with. This allows us to create audience-engaging content. We believe in giving space to new and underrepresented voices and topics. In the last three years the company has organically developed from a small production house to one of top independent Polish producers, with a team of five full-time staff members and a network of reliable co-workers that are hired on project-to-project basis. The company is driven by openness and respect both in our approach to people we work with and projects we choose. We work towards full equality behind and in front of the camera. Our recent credits include: OPERATION HYACINTH (dir. Piotr Domalewski; Netflix Original) critically acclaimed crime drama; winner of Best Polish Film Award at Camerimage 2021 as well as Best Polish Script at Gdynia FF; DETECTIVE BRUNO (dir. Mariusz Palej, Magdalena Nieć) family adventure comedy released in Polish cinemas in May 2022. In 2022 we will also premiere animated documentary series WARTIME PORTRAITS: WOMEN, follow up to a successful series WARTIME PORTRAITS – broadcasting hit with almost 5 m. views on Polish national TV (TVP), as well as one of the first CEE productions acquired by Netflix. SHIPSBOY works globally with a number of European partners, having co-developed and co-produced with France, Germany, UK, Luxembourg and Slovakia amongst others. We are a member of the Polish Producers Alliance (KIPA).
