SHOKA consulting provides a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to advise the boards of Social Enterprises in the UK, helping them to 'survive' in CyberSpace. The Internet is where most of us conduct our business, and our mission is to 'Keep the Internet Safe and Sound'(KISS). In fulfilling our mission, we brief executive teams, helping them: 1. to become aware of the cyber crisis we are all faced with, where cyber-attacks to all businesses, large or small, are occurring every few seconds throughout the world. Today's reality is: no organisation connected to the Internet is safe, and it is only a matter of time, when your organisation or your family home will be 'hacked', if not already. to identify all of the company's digital assets where critical business information is stored: on premise, in the cloud, on email servers, on social media, on laptops and phones. to understand the likelihood of a data breach occurring for each of their digital assets. to calculate the tangible costs to the business when a data breach occurs, where operational revenue ceases as soon as an attack commences, and substantial regulatory fines imposed, after the dust has settled. to understand the intangible costs of a damaged reputation, fleeing customers and no new business prospects. Potentially, this is 'end of life' for the business. to decide which critical digital assets need protecting now. We then write the Cyber Security Strategy for the company, and pass on to the IT and Security teams to execute. Once a quarter we make sure the strategy is on-track, and augmented to include the protection of new digital assets if necessary. Our Business Ethic in all our engagements with our clients and partners is governed by sticking to the principle of 'People and Planet before Profit'. We only use and recommend solutions that are environmentally sustainable, minimize global warming, and do not take advantage of unfair wages.
