My name is Jacques Johnson, Owner of ShotByJoc Media. I am a 28 year old Student, Photographer, Personal Trainer, and Soldier in the US Army. I was born in Mississippi and grew up outside of Chicago. I grew up hearing “Find three hobbies you love: one to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative.” Photography keeps me creative. I don’t photograph subjects. I photograph the way they make me feel and try to capture the essence of each person. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a strange concept. But it’s honest – and it’s the best way to describe my approach to the craft. I wrestle with every image I shoot. I assume perfection is possible and I want to wring it out of every picture. If that’s all you ever know about me, it’s enough to say you know me very, very well.
