SHUMAYELA CONSULTING was started by Ingrid Kriel CA(SA) in 2014. After working at the Auditor General South Africa (AGSA) for a period of 9 years, she was becoming despondent in reporting on the same findings year on year. She decided to use the knowledge and skills acquired whilst at the AGSA to rather assist the municipalities and other public sector entities in establishing and implementing proper financial management controls so that the audit outcomes could be improved and service deliverables could be achieved. We believe that people are our most important asset. The team from Shumayela Consulting is made of qualified professionals, with combined public sector experience of over 40 years. They all have strong auditing backgrounds with extensive knowledge of the PFMA, MFMA, Treasury Regulations and other applicable legislative frameworks, as well as the AGSA audit standards and methodology. Sustainable improvements cannot take place over a short period of time. We are therefore looking at building a long term relationship with our clients, with the key focus areas being the transfer of skills and developing and implementing systems of controls to ensure the sustainability of improvements made. Our vision: Our vision is to be the preferred service provider in the Eastern Cape, supporting the public sector to ensure sustainable improvements in financial management resulting in better service delivery for the communities. Mission statement: Our mission is to provide cost-effective financial management support to municipalities and other public sector entities to assist in maintaining accurate financial records, resulting in improved audit outcomes and better service delivery.
