Business planning and funding specialists. We wanted to create a Business Planning Service that was far more effective than the 'do it yourself' option yet far more affordable than the alternative option of engaging a consultant. It’s very easy to write it down simply like that, but in reality the solution was far more difficult than we ever imagined. The problem is that a good advisor’s time is always going to be expensive. So, to be affordable our service would have to be delivered in a relatively short period of time. We set ourselves a target for our new planning service: To understand and model a business and create a balanced business plan in just half-a-day. We knew this would make it affordable, but could we make it a truly effective service in such a short time? The solution, of course, is to harness the power of the modern PC to leverage the advisor’s time. This turned out to be an extremely difficult challenge, which took some bright people many years to finally achieve. In 2005 we began offering the Sightpath service to clients. Since then, it has been continually refined and we can confidently claim that we have succeeded in bringing a planning service to the small business that is extremely effective and affordable.
