Sigma is a family-owned Japanese manufacturer of photographic lenses and cameras. Founded in 1961 by Michihiro Yamaki, and currently managed by his son Kazuto Yamaki, Sigma embodies a spirit on independence that allows us to explore different approaches and pursue our ideal of craftsmanship. Every single lens, camera and accessory is manufactured to meet our high expectations at our sole production facility in Aizu, Japan in order to meet strict quality control standards. For more than sixty years, we have continued to set new standards in photographic equipment and provide photographers and filmmakers with powerful and long-lasting tools to realize their creative visions.
