We do (independent) research on the adaptability of organizations as institutions and on organizations as patterns of continual local adjustments. The quality of adaptability of the organisation we call Adaptive Excellence. This concerns the spectrum between planned/predicted change and unpredictable spontaneous change: from changing a business, to the business of change! Within Adaptive Excellence we recognise three areas of interest: Systemic Design Meaning activities resulting from mainstream management thinking. For example, advising on Balanced Scorecard, Business Process (re) design, Business consultant Project/programme management, and Operational Governance. Research concerns matters such as business Excellence. Agile Designing For example, research and advice on change proficiency maturity, business agility and adaptive enterprise. Emergence perspective For example, research into spontaneous developments in the organization, and the organization as patterns of spontaneous development. From the emergence perspective all organizational forms are emergent phenomena under special circumstances, following from complex sense and respond processes.
