Autumn heralds winter but also the spectacle of the Mature Stags tussling for supremacy, locking antlers on the hillside, to be the Major Buck for the Rut. The Festive season can sometimes prompt a sprinkling of snow which can be magical and the bareness of the woodland enables the Deer herd to be seen clearly even from a distance.
