Sim-Plex Design Studio’s vision is [ Live Beyond The Limit - Expanding The Possibilities Of Limited Living Space ]. We are a habitation studio of architecture & spatial design, founded by Architect Patrick Lam. Sim-Plex stands for [ From Simplicity To Complexity ]. We intervene with Compact Adaptability & Humanised Inclusivity to create transformable, flexible and multifunctional space with poetic narrative in the space time dimension. As a journey from spatial [ Simplicity ] to adaptable inclusive [ Complexity ] that improves this changing compact living environment. Our works promotes micro design could be responsive to macro social context and sustainable usage of spatial resources. We are based in Hong Kong and design globally. FOUNDER PROFILE Patrick Lam received his Bachelor of Architectural Studies(CUHK) and Master of Architec- ture (CUHK) in 2007 and 2010 respectively. In 2014 - 2016, he further studied his second master degree Master of Arts in Fine Arts (CUHK). Uptill now, he was also a part-time lecturer of Hong Kong Design Institute(HKDI) in the field of Architecture and Interior Design. After being a senior architect in Ronald Lu and Partners for many years, in 2017, he started his own architectural and interior practice, Sim-Plex Design Studio. The studio has won numerous awards including as the winner of Dezeen award in 2020, IDA award, etc. In 2021, he was invited as a judge of Dezeen Award 2021.Uptill now, Patrick still enjoys the multi-discipline identities of being an architect, interior designer, lecturer or artist.
