Simply Science takes over 25 years experience in the area of STEM related engagement and uses it to create wonderful and inspiring programmes for all ages.The team professionally designs and operates programmes for children as young as 3 all the way up to physics loving pensioners in their nineties. Real science Having a team comprised of actual scientists is absolutely crucial to how Simply Science operates – real people doing real STEM activities. Everything is real, nothing is faked, especially the personalities. Simply Science strives to showcase Science, Engineering and Maths in an impressive, engaging accessible way that isn’t dumbed down. For everyone A layered thematic approach to how participants learn ensures that everyone in our audience gets what we’re talking about. This is true for any event that we do and we engage with the audiences rather than talk at them. Our primary facilitators for these events are Philip, Aoibhéann, Stephen and Christine who you may have seen on shows like RTÉ’s Home School Hub Lab, Future Island with Liz Bonnin, Weather Live with Kathyrn Thomas or numerous RTÉJr and TRTÉ shows over the years. They know their stuff and are wonderful with kids. Gets results All of our youth workshops are curriculum linked but the workshops and shows have a completely informal feel. As an example, for the day we might focus on the areas of air power. Within this seemingly simple theme we can bring in hands-on experiments and demonstrations where children learn through play and experience. By starting with something simple like a tornado tube we can then journey to, vortex cannons, Bernoulli and how planes fly before ending up on projectile motion and launching our own rockets.
