You can register a Grandstream IP surveillance product as a SIP extension and “call” the unit using an IP video or multimedia phone. But SIP / VoIP technology isn’t just an easy way to establish two-way audio and video between Grandstream’s cameras and multimedia SIP phones. The real value of SIP / VoIP technology is that it essentially eliminates the learning curve for providers, resellers, and integrators. If you already know how to provision and install SIP telephony products, you’ll know how to integrate our GXV Series surveillance products. You can also achieve easy video recording through Asterisk®. You can look for this functionality in Axis, Cisco, Panasonic, and Sony products, but you won’t find it.
