Sirius Thinking is a New York-based educational multimedia company. Our specialty is developing highly engaging and academically rigorous children’s educational programming and software across multiple platforms by fostering collaborations among leading educators and top-tier creative talent, and bringing their efforts to market through partnerships and licensing deals with leading for-profit and non-profit institutions. Our most celebrated achievement is creating and co-producing the 10-time Emmy Award-winning PBS literacy education program, Between the Lions. We also produced another successful public TV series, Lomax, the Hound of Music, aimed at helping young children develop musical skills. Recently, as the children’s educational content market has shifted from TV to digital media, Sirius has focused on developing multimedia and interactive products. Notable examples – all produced in collaboration with the Success for All Foundation and FlickerLab, and funded with support from the U.S. Department of Education – include "Tutoring with the Lightning Squad," a web-based multimedia tutoring model;"Reading Between the Lions," a personalized intervention for first-grade classrooms; and most recently,"Game Changers," a comprehensive library of concise, fun-to-play web games, each targeted to a specific early literacy curriculum objective. These games are combined into playlists with short, highly entertaining videos from "Between the Lions" that provide instruction on the exact same educational goals, and are delivered to students, both in school and at home, at precisely the right moment for maximum educational effect.
