Sivil İnternet

Sivil İnternet is an initiative which advocates that «public interest» should be the main objective of the enhancements in information and communications technologies. Technology connects people, creates changes in urban living, digitalizes production tools and creates a shift towards electronic platforms for media and for consumption of goods and services. At this point, we aim to achieve prioritization of public interest in ICT related developments conducted by the government and public sector; also awareness creation in the public regarding the tools that people can use on the internet for their own benefits. We are interested with all developments in ICT area by taking civil life as a main priority. However, we determined following issues based on our understanding of Turkey’s needs as our current priority issues amongst other developments of ICT areas- Increase the use of and access to ICT tools- Transparency of policy making process- Enabling efficient use of open public data - Supporting creation of online platforms for communities and social needs by using ICT tools- Protection of personal data and limit government surveillance - Child safety and safe use of the Internet- Supporting freedom of expression, freedom of information and free media on the Internet.
