Skipping Rocks Lab Ooho
About us: Skipping Rocks Lab is a London based startup whose mission is 'to make packaging disappear'. We are developing natural, biodegradable packaging materials made from seaweed and other plant materials to tackle plastic pollution. Started in 2014 by Pierre Paslier and Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez, we raised our first seed round on Crowdcube in April 2017 and are now VC backed. About the product: Our first product, Ooho, is a natural, flexible packaging for liquids that biodegrades in 4-6 weeks or can even be eaten. Made from seaweed, it can contain water, soft drinks, sauces or even alcohol. At the heart of our solution is a local manufacturing machine to produce Oohos on-site in the range of 20-250mls per sachet, depending on the application. The primary business model of Skipping Rocks Lab is to lease this machine and sell materials to cafes and event organisers, to produce and sell fresh Oohos containing drinks or sauces as desired. To date, we have sold over Oohos to marathons, festivals and take away restaurants.
