SKITPO is a non-profit and non-political organization established in India to promote the advancement of childhood education to create a truly sustainable socioeconomic environment where basic stress is laid upon learning. Education plays a vital role in giving human beings proper equipment to lead a gracious and harmonious life. Skitpo believes there is more to education than just learning – how to read, write and to do arithmetic. While not wanting to undermine the necessity of these subjects, it is also important that a pupil receives an all round education which incorporates a number of disciplines that will benefit and improve a person's life. Across India, millions of children are deprived of basic education because their families need their labor to survive and do not understand the importance of getting their young ones educated. The lack of interest in education by some members of the society, or the inadequacy of its implementation, hinders nations from developing. All children must be given access to education, and its importance must be emphasized, for it not only improves mind but is also an investment in the future of the nation and the globe. Unless initiatives are taken to educate children, it is almost a certainty any nation will remain impoverished and will always need assistance from other countries as it will not be able to manage on its own. Skitpo’s programs and activities are managed and monitored through well defined operational processes with emphasis on transparency and accountability. Skitpo raises funds through public contributions in USA, UK, India, Australia and EU countries and directs them to its ongoing efforts in India.
