Strategic Vendor Management (SLM) Cloud has been initiating government-wide contract agreements and purchasing conditions for software and cloud services for the Dutch government since 2014. Our tasks include: • Advising government institutions on the purchase of software and cloud products and services. • Evaluating the risks of cloud products and services for, among other things, compliance with privacy legislation (AVG / GDPR). • Organizing national and international networks of purchasers and contract managers of cloud products and services • The joint, EU-wide development of knowledge and skills and the mobilization of innovative power through the The Hague Forum for Cloud Contracting. We do this nationwide within the Netherlands and increasingly also within Europe. The emphasis is on being able to use software and cloud products and services safely and within the framework of privacy legislation and regulations. We achieve this by negotiating agreements with software and cloud suppliers that include improvements in the conditions to mitigate risks and reduce costs. The SLM Cloud team supports government agencies and institutions with, among others: • Making the right product choices. • Cost control. • Quality control of the products and services purchased. • Compliance with agreements. Our strategy contributes to an optimal position of the Dutch government in the playing field of existing and future software vendors and cloud providers. This enhances the strength of our negotiating and purchasing power. We do this based on the belief that the use of products and services can only be truly optimal, as well as fully compliant, if we join forces throughout the Dutch and international governments.
