SMOKE & TEARS began as a spark in the darkness after the pandemic brought the world to a grinding halt. Dreams & plans went up in smoke. Creative dynamo Shannon Armishaw and Chef Kevin Rickey decided to take control of a moment that left so many feeling powerless. They wanted to mark the unfathomable moment in time and history by creating something meaningful, sustainable, & unforgettably delicious. They launched SMOKE & TEARS in 2021 as a way to “feed friends near and far” after exhausted Friends & Lovers expressed their burning desire for bold new flavours to brighten up dark days and nights during the pandemic winter in lockdown in Toronto.
